We've spent all week talking about AI Agents and global summits. Now, it's time to talk about the most important "system" you manage: yourself. In a world that is always "on" the most productive thing you can do this weekend is intentionally turn off.
At Briefly Note, we call this the Digital Sabbath. Here are 3 simples rules to reclaim your head-space before Monday.
1. The "Gray-Scale" Hack
Our brains are wired to react to the bright, saturated colors of notification bubbles. On Friday night, go into your phone settings and turn on Grayscale mode. By removing the color, you remove the "reward" your brain gets from scrolling. You’ll be shocked at how boring your phone becomes.
2. Analog Inputs Only
On Saturday, pick one window of time—even just two hours—where you only consume "analog" media. Read a physical book, listen to a record, or use a paper map. Removing the blue light and the ability to "click away" forces your brain into deep relaxation.
3. The "No-Screen" Morning
Sunday morning is for you, not for your inbox. Rule: No screens until you’ve had your first cup of coffee and stepped outside. Grounding yourself in the physical world before the digital one sets the tone for a calm, controlled week.
The Note to Take Home: Rest is not a reward for hard work; it is a requirement for it. Note the silence this weekend so you can hear the signal next week.
